Peacebuilders from around the world convened in Dhulikhel, Nepal, from March 1st-4th for the Global Peace Retreat and Conclave 2024. Organized by the Coalition for Training Research and Development (CTRaDe) and its partners, including Initiatives of Change Nepal and Concern for Children Welfare Organization, the retreat welcomed 24 participants representing a diverse range of nationalities and backgrounds. The theme, “Bridging Cultures, Building Peace,” set the stage for a powerful experience of connection, learning, and inspiration.

The retreat offered a dynamic program featuring interactive workshops, thought-provoking discussions, vibrant cultural performances, peaceful walks amidst Nepal’s natural beauty, and insightful sightseeing tours. Participants explored critical topics such as promoting mental well-being, addressing global peace challenges, fostering cultural understanding and acceptance, and drawing inspiration from Nepal’s rich peace heritage.

Beyond dialogue, the retreat equipped participants with practical skills for peace advocacy and mental health support within their communities. It fostered a global network of peace advocates, empowering them to take concrete action towards a more peaceful world. Participants expressed profound appreciation for the enriching and impactful experience, emphasizing the vital role of cultural understanding, empathy, and collaboration in peacebuilding. The Global Peace Retreat and Conclave 2024 served as a powerful catalyst for positive change, inspiring hope for a more peaceful future.
